FreightCar America Elects Gehl Chairman of the Board

Railroad freight car manufacturer FreightCar America’s board of directors has elected William D. Gehl as non-executive chairman of the board.

Gehl joined the board in May 2007. He succeeds Thomas M. Fitzpatrick, who had been chairman of the board since March 2007 and will continue as a director of the company. Fitzpatrick stepped down from the position to dedicate more time to various other business interests.

Gehl retired from Gehl Company in 2009, after serving as chairman, president and CEO of that company beginning in 1995.
